Page 3 of 5: Telephone Line
Summary
We provide a phoneline from British Telecom, included in the rent. In most flats you would need to pay for this yourself, even if you prefer to use mobile phones, for the following reasons:
A telephone line is needed for internet serviceAn active telephone line is a health and safety requirement in licenced rental accommodation
Incoming Calls
All calls received are free at any time, including calls from abroad. We will give you the flat telephone number when you ask.
You can purchase a 'phone card' with a freephone 0800 UK access number. These can be used at any time on our phones for no extra cost. Especially recommended for calls abroad, which may call 1p to 1.5p per minute when made with an appropriate phonecard.
Phonecards mean that the cost of calls will be attributed to the correct person. Cards purchased at nobelcom may have an 0800 access number.
Other Telephone Options
Some tenants use free internet services such as 'Skype' Others use their mobile phones instead of a phone card
