First and Second Rental Instalments
Due Dates
An example for clarification only:
Lease Start Date: 10 September 2011
First Monthly Instalment Due: 1 September 2011
Needs to Leave your Account: Around 26 August 2011
Second Monthly Instalment Due: 1 October 2011
First Monthly Instalment
The first monthly rental instalment is separate from the deposit. The rental instalments are due on the first of each month for the first 10 months of the lease. Therefore we require the first instalment in our account before the start of the lease. Please find the method of payment which suits you, below.
Paying the First Monthly Instalment
From Britain: If you already have a British bank account, please set up a 'standing order' in plenty of time to pay the first month instalment. A standing order typically takes about three weeks to set up. See Page 4.
Late Standing Orders: If you are unable to set up the standing order in time for the first month's rent. Please pay directly into our account by Giro transfer.
In Edinburgh: Alternatively, if you are in Edinburgh when the first instalment is due you may pay it into our bank in person. Take cash or a British cheque to our branch which is off Nicolson St. and fill in a 'paying in slip'.
From Abroad: If you do not have a British bank account, please pay the first instalment by international transfer in time for it to arrive. See Page 1.
The Second Monthly Instalment
The second instalment should be paid by standing order, see Page 4. The exception is if you are still in the process of setting up a British bank account, see Page 5.
In this case, please pay the second monthly instalment in the same way as the first: 'In Edinburgh' or 'From Abroad' as you choose. Please let us know if this is what you have to do and check that you have our bank details.
