Carbon Off-Setting

We calculate the carbon emmissions each year from the business and 'off-set' these by paying for trees to be planted which should, in the course of their lives, take that amount of carbon out of the atmosphere.

We offset for:

We believe that as Landlords we should reduce our own impact on the environment and help you to reduce yours. We facilitate recycling, reduce waste of energy and off-set for carbon emissions from energy and travel.

Recycling

Outside each property, the council provide recycling bins for paper, glass and tin cans. We provide you with information and a set of units in each kitchen for dividing recyclable rubbish.

Non-recyclable waste can be disposed of down rubbish chutes found on each landing.

Energy Use

It is in our own interest and that of the environment to reduce unnecessary use of energy in the properties:

Insulation: We have loft insulation and double glazing
Lighting:  All main lights and bedside lights have energy-efficient bulbs
Heating:  We have gas central heating, and ask that you keep this at a sensible level, and set it to turn off when you are out of the property
Appliances:  We have mostly up-to-date energy-efficient appliances.
5 of our 6 flats have combi-boilers. Several have dual flush-level WCs.

In 2010 we used 'Global Trees' for carbon off-setting. We will review this decision according to national and international recommendations and standards.
